I have a friend who lives in NOLA and works in Costa Rica for months through the year. Green card, documentation is required. She must come back for said amount of time to the States before she can return. I see no problem here. And those bringing their kids claiming ‘asylum’ are no better then that asshat in the movie Titanic who stole the child, claimed it as his, and snuck away.
