Interesting since I keep hearing and reading that large cause of the price increase is no refining capacity and a lack of pipelines in the US. The issue is not production.

After 8 yeaars under Obama, I do plead guilty to appreciating results over words.
There are a few basins that have a lack of pipeline capacity...long haul gas lines in the NE and in western OK and long haul oil lines out of the Permian. However(1), those issues cause local price depressions, not price increases. However(2), that can cause less drilling and thus less production, thus higher prices at a macro level....All depends on where you’re located relevant to the takeaway capacity. As an example, Henry Hub is currently about $2.90/MMBTU while OGT in western OK is trading at about $1.20 which is great news for central Oklahoma electricity customers but is certainly hindering drilling in the basin.
Can’t comment on refining capacity in the US but do know those guys are killing it right now.
