I say we have Senior Night this Saturday when we play Baylor and just move on from this class. They've all regressed, even though they were never great in the first place. Lindy's 3 point percentage has dropped from 45% last year to 32% this year. Literally the only statistical category he's improved in is rebounding. His assists, shooting percentages, scoring, and turnovers are all worse than last season. He didn't score a single point against TCU or the first half against UT and we've now lost every Big 12 game by 12+ points. The only time we've looked like we have any life since the Georgetown game is when the younger guys are on the floor.
Thomas Dziagwa, down in nearly every statistical category as well. Did you know he shoots 29% from 2? That's utterly pathetic.
McGriff, same story. Down in nearly every statistical category. Scoring four less points per game than he did last year and shooting 22% from 3, but still pulling the trigger 3 times per game.
I get it, Boynton feels some sort of loyalty to these seniors and he wouldn't have this job if it wasn't for them. But at this rate, these guys will also be the reason he doesn't have a job very soon.
Despite the way it seems, Yor's numbers are still up from last year, although that may not be the case if this continues for another few games. He's only averaging half a block less than he did last year. His fg% is down 10%, but his free throw percentage is up 10%. He's fouling at the same 3.2 clip he did last year even though it seems worse this year. Likekele's numbers are all up. He's shooting 29% from three, but takes about 3 less per game than McGriff. If McGriff has the green light, then give it to Ice as well. If he's able to build some confidence in his 3 point shot, that would help us tremendously. Avery Anderson needs more PT. So do the Boones. Hell even Chris Harris looked better on offense last night. Yor played 8 minutes and had no points or rebounds, hell even Hidde had a rebound. I do think Boy town is starting to realize he needs to play the pups more since Avery had 26 minutes, Kalib 22 minutes, Keylan 18 minutes, and Harris 16 minutes. But Lindy having 31 and McGriff having 26 is still far too much time with those guys on the floor.
