Of course they love gov't spending. That's why there is a movement to bring back earmarks. Like the dems' treatment of blacks, the GOP members only care about the votes their constituents supply every 2-6 years.

I think it’s not so much about who sided with the Tea Party movement, but who voted for a Republican. Many, if not most, people didn’t vote so much for the Republican as against the Democrat. They thought by voting for the Republican they could slow the onslaught of big government. How foolish of them! The Republicans have a built-in set of dupes they can always count on as long as they say they’re against more spending.

With a few notable individual exceptions, the whole dam useless lot of them are opposite sides of the same coin......when "my side" spends a ton of cash no problem. When "your side" spends a ton of cash it's an affront on par with clubbing baby seals.

Possibly in general. Most on here are pretty anti spending no matter who is in charge.

It is because politics is a constant news cycle and our economy is not. Being fiscally smart and cutting spending will, no doubt, lower GDP in the short-term. And few politicians seem willing to make the sacrifice because an economic downturn, even for a short-period, will hurt the party in power. Hence we continue to have unrivaled increases in spending and a spiraling debt that places an incredible burden on taxpayers.
