Anyone watch? It had a different feel to it for sure. I'm intrigued and will watch for a bit.

I haven't watched it, but they really pushed it during the Super Bowl and I saw IGN gave debut a 9.3/10.

I watched it.
Very confusing, but very cool. I'm not sure what is going on. I know I could find answers on line but, want to stay away from spoilers, and figure it out as I watch.

Yeah, I thought it was awesome, and this is one comic character I have basically no familiarity with. I wonder if that's actually a benefit because I don't get the impression they're going to adhere to any particular story or run.

The creator is the same guy who created the Fargo show. I know a lot of people enjoy that one as well.

I'm assuming the first episode really wanted to make a push on laying some background vibe, but I'd be lying if I claimed I was impressed out of the gate. Can't remember the last time I was let down by an FX show, so I'll be watching for sure.

Trying to remember where I had seen the lead bothered me the first half of the episode, so maybe that was a distraction as well.

He was in Downton Abbey.

Not that you strike me as a Downton Abbey fan.

I thought the second episode was better than the first.

Agreed. Still very confused, but trending in the right direction. I can't decide if the blond (his girlfriend) is real or if she is a figment of his imagination. I can't decide if his lesbian friend ever really existed or if she was made up by him. I would probably know the answer to these questions if I had read the comics or looked him up on Wikipedia, but I am enjoying the ride.

So... Did he know the lesbian friend before he was put in the looney bin? I think his girlfriend is real. They switched bodies and she lost control while in his body. Although, I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone else talking to her.?

What if her personality took over and didn't know how to control his powers? Multiple personality disorder.
I thought it was strange that she was standing off to the side while he and the other two people were all sitting around the table and doing '"memory work".

It's not really following the comics at all.

Finally got caught up. After seeing the most recent episode, I am officially convinced that the blonde girl is real and not a figment of his imagination/alternate personality.

This show is getting weird. I wonder who the devil with the yellow eyes is in the show. Is it something external, or is this a very dark personality inside David?

It is a very weird show, but that is part of the feel. You are going WTF about half the time and then it will blend together. This is one powerful dude. Can not only control objects but can effect time and dimension. I think that the yellow eyed dude is the evil that resides within him and is trying to take over. I havent figured out the bobble head book character yet or why the blonde chick can see it. Weird to find out the girl from his OD days wasnt actually a girl at all but a dude. Why was that memory corroded?

After Wednesdays episode, I'm thinking the yellow eyed dude is definitely the Shadow King.

Finally got caught up last night.

After the most recent episode, it appears that his memories are all corroded due to the parasite (Shadow King?) residing within his mind and trying to control him.

One minor thing that I found weird. In the episode where David was tied up in the pool, and his current group of friends came to rescue him...There was a very powerful telekinetic dude who led the charge and was throwing soldiers around like paper dolls. He reappeared in the most recent episode. Where was he in the 2-3 episodes in between?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the Shadow King. That's a good Charles Xavier villain. Plus, the childhood dog, who wasn't real according to the sister but seems to be in a lot of David's memories, is named King.

Episode 6 was weird. Why were they at the looney bin and not the house?

The Shadow King is now controlling all of them and creating an alternate reality where he can continue to control them. They are going to have to figure out what is going on and then find a way to break free.
