Would need to see full text, but if it’s exactly what you say, and nothing else, it’s pretty terrible it got shot down.
Seems like it’s possible they left it out to help quickly pass the spending bill. The House already passed a version of this bill.
If a measure doesn’t go through though, Mitch should be removed as leader (should be anyway).

This morning I saw an R Congresscritter stating "well we have to fund this bill or else the gov will shut down which will hurt our military." A complete role reversal of positions the last time we had a gov shutdown scare which was basically "If dems shutdown the government the military will be hurt and the dems will own it." Which they did. I guess maybe a little too much because the GOP has no intention of increasing majorities and going on the offensive.
These people are crafty and know exactly what they're doing. What a fvcking joke of a bill.
