I should start off by saying that Kenny Jr. was already on edge to start the day. He was selected to play a wise man when he really wanted to be a shepherd. He has always admired their work ethic and wants to represent the blue collar working class and not the hoity toity wise men and their stupid ass gifts. Needless to say he left for the pageant on edge, which is never a good thing for poor mouthy sooners nearby.
Kenny Jr. was going to put his frustration behind him and be the best wise man he could be. After all, it is a very important part of the story and of Christmas. He had his myrrh all polished and ready to go when a shepherd told him that his cologne would make a good gift to the baby Jesus, all while snickering. Kenny Jr. was relatively unphased and told him that it wasn't cologne but essential anointing oils derived from the gummy sap that oozes out of the Boswellia and Commiphora trees. He also called him an uneducated sooner bastard who was going to hell. I thought that part was a little out of line myself but he did have a point about being uneducated and thinking the myrrh was cologne.
Kenny Jr. started his march to the baby Jesus with the other wise men. He got to the stage and looked proud and confident. It was a very proud parent moment for me. The sooner shepherd was not taking his role as seriously however. He flashed the horns down symbol to the paper mache cow that the class below them had built for the play. I saw Kenny Jr. turn beet red in an instance. He casually dropped the myrrh and charged for an easy double leg. He drove the shepherd through the paper mache cow and lambs and straight into the manger sending wood and hay flying everywhere. Worst part about all of this was the baby Jesus's head went flying off out into the audience.
House lights went on and they pried Kenny Jr. off of the sooner shepherd who was hysterically crying. I'm very disappointed about the disrespect that went on during that play. It's unbelievable how some kids will act these days!
Can you believe that the little shepherd boy would disrespect the birth of Christ and flash the horns down symbol, for seemingly no reason except for being a poor sooner?! Pathetic. Kenny Jr. and I are eating Mexican food right now. I'm rewarding him with a glass of chocolate milk and sopapillas. I'll be rewarding myself with my 4th margarita soon.
God Bless everyone and happy holidays.
