Jon Snow - Resurrection by Melisandre or Funeral Pyre?

aww what happened to the video? It says it has been removed. Must be by pyre then if GOT made them remove it.

Pretty much exactly what I've been saying about him being a Targ and a Stark by the mad king and Ned's sister.

Damn convincing video

It is interesting. I have always felt that GRRM laid the groundwork for Benjen Stark and Howland Reed to be instrumental in revealing Jon's lineage to him and to the rest of Westeros. Benjen conveniently disappeared before the s hit the f, and Reed has mysteriously not appeared yet (when it seems as if there have been multiple reasons for him to have done so).

Of course, HBO has not really touched on Reed much, if at all. I do know that they are going to reveal the Tower of Joy scene to us this season, so that may be where we first see him and realize he is important.

I can see the relevance of what is discussed in the video because it is possible that no one believes the story told by Benjen and Howland, and being reborn in fire gives significant credence to their tale.

However, the issue I have with the theory is that GRRM has not really established that fire can revive a dead Targaryan (unless I missed it). We know that some of them can't be hurt by fire, but that is not the same as bringing a dead one back to life.

No there has been nothing in the main series or lore that supports that.

Also Carice van Houten has said she plays a big part in this season, but she was only at filming for a very short time. If it is a big part but she is actually in the season very much it leads me to think that she resurrects Jon.

I'm glad I'm around to tell you everything that's going on; you guys would be lost without my advise and it would create an averse effect.

It's A Song of Ice and Fire. Fire has to come in to play sometime.

I think the Iron Throne business is all a red herring. Somebody has to step up soon to be the hero against what's coming from beyond the wall. Not many characters have their eye on it, but Jon is one. there's too much invested in the plot for Jon not to be instrumental in saving humanity.

If he rises from the dead, he's coming back as something more than what he was. The options are Azor, the Last Hero if they aren't the same prophecy, etc.

Think there will be a triumvirate in play here, 1 rider for each dragon. John simply because he fits best with Azor with all the pieces of his back story. Dani because she's a such a crappy character but GRRM keeps pimping her. And no clue on the third.

I always figured the "fire" part was a reference to the Dragons. The "Ice" part is obvious.

As far as the triumvirate goes. I'm not sure how I feel about the theory that Tyrion is actually the son of the Mad King and Joanna Lannister.

On the one hand, I think it has merit due to Tywin saying something along the lines of "You are no son of mine" to Tyrion at one point. Additionally, it would explain his whole revulsion/mistreatment of Tyrion, which Tyrion attributes to him being repulsed/embarrassed by Tyrion being a dwarf.

On the flip side, it does not seem to be in line with Tywin's character to not call out Aerys for sleeping with Tywin's wife or to not kick Joanna to the curb if she did so.

I'll have to try and find it but I'm fairly certain the A+J=T theory has been debunked.

Well if Tyrion isn't a Targaryen then he might be toast from according to one of the trailers when he is down with the dragons. I also thought a clue to him being one was the fact he had skills in building special saddles and I always thought this foreshadowed him being one of the dragon riders. Why else would him making Bran a saddle be in the show and books. I guess maybe to show he is kinder then his sister and brother but that seems like an odd point to make at that point in the story.

I thought the point of the Bran saddle was just to humanize him and show that he is more than just a very ugly, wealthy, smart ass who is prone to indulgence.

Why do they let that play out longer with Jamie and not Tyrion then? More then likely you are right but it just seemed to stick out as odd to me.

I dont know what tyrions heritage is, but I do believe he has some thing supernatural about him. He avoided getting grey scale even when he fell into the water, and the deadly flu even when living in the camp while everyone was dying around him.
