Not the first time in US History (that would be LBJ in 1968), but regardless, he’s a lame duck. Will be interesting to see if he steps down, or if he’s forced to step down.

Harris would be campaigning and attempting to be president at the same time. The potential for any number of disasters is too high.
There have been lame ducks at this point in an election year since LBJ.
Reagan (88), Clinton (2000), W. Bush (2008) and Obama (2016).
But not before an election. Biden will be a lame duck for six months.

Reagan was not running for reelection in 1988, H.W. Bush was the Republican nominee. Clinton wasn't running for reelection in 2000, Gore was the Democratic nominee. W. Bush wasn't running for reelection in 2008, McCain was the Republican nominee. Obama wasn't running for reelection in 2016, Hillary Clinton was the nominee.
All four were lame ducks before an election, just as President Biden is now.
Under that flawed thinking, anyone who is elected to a second term is considered a lame duck for their entire second term. That’s not what being a lame duck means.
They become a lame duck after the election to choose their successor. Look it up.
Well actually, there is always the discussion of when a President in his second term is going to enter the lame ducks phase. That is why second term Presidents usually move fast early on in their second term to pass legislation, especially before their second midterm.
Well if this is the definition you are going to use, then President Biden is not a lame duck as you claimed earlier. The election to choose his successor has not occurred yet.
Another definition of lame duck is "one whose position or term of office will soon end" according to Merriam-Webster. This definition would make President Biden a lame duck President along with the Presidents I have mentioned (at this point).
