Jason Isbell & Sturgill Simpson coming to Winstar

4 for the show!

Pissed the VIP were already gone. I check his tour site regularly, wish I'd checked sooner. Thanks for the heads up.

Will be an awesome time regardless.

I originally had 4 in vip right, but decided to go A section middle for $10 less a ticket. Should be good seats. Simpson is playing in Dallas next Saturday and tickets are very hard to find. Getting to see both these guys for $75 is a heck of a deal.

What did you think, Cowguy?

Not sure I'll ever go to a show at the Winstar again. I didn't like the venue at all and I was really disapointed each act only played for 1 hour and no encore. I assume that was madated by the casino? That being said both Simpson and Isbell were really good and I really enjoyed them. Can't you hear me knocking cover was great.

Show was great .. Both Simpson and Isbell crammed excellent sets into what I am sure is a venue mandated 1 hour show time. I'll not go to another show there unless it is a multiple performer, like this one and they are full of awesome, like Simpson and Isbell.

A one hour show for large bucks and a long drive, I'll pass in most cases. Give me a $10 cover in a bar with hungry bands every day.

CT,

We had to be right by you. We were in the middle of A, 3 rows back. Honduee was on the first row of A.

To see both those guys at once was something not to be missed. I agree though that this is likely my last show there. My wife loves mellencamp. I took her to see him there, for her birthday, and it was, as you said, an hour show with no encore.

That being said ... I thought both guys were terrific. I struggled to understand Sturgill some. I don't know if it was him, or the mix. Fortunately I knew the words and that helped. There are a few songs, from both, that I wish had been played, but overall, I thought both were solid representations. I was one of the few fortunate to see Isbell's pop up show this summer in bricktown. Seabolt was with me, and he and I both feel that we are way in the green, because of that. I think both guys are among the best out there today. Would see both again.

Side note ... Honduee's wife rode in the elevator with Isbell and got a picture with him.

Side note number two. Smokin' Joe's barbecue was again legit.

We were A11 dead center. Probably right by each other.

My wife made same comment about not being able to understand Sturgill.

During Simpson's performance I was thinking I could listen to him for 2 more hours. Even with the terrible sound system and acoustics his voice is so clean. Loved when they jammed out to it ain't all flowers and the blue grass tunes too.

One of the guys with me came down from Salt Lake City for the show. It was the 6th time he saw Isbell. He told us before hand that we didn't want Isbell's wife there playing too, said when she's there he doesn't jam with the band near as much. Really enjoyed Super 8 and Can't you hear me knocking.

Now I want to see Simpson in a small rowdy venue. I think he'd be fantastic in that type of setting. I didn't like all the sitting. People yelling from behind to sit down if we stood up was annoying.

We were literally right behind you. mseabolt and his wife were to our left - our wives were side by side.

Wish I'd known. Would have loved to meet you. 3 members of the board within 3 rows of each other.

Sorry. Make that four members.

Jason played for 2:15 at the show this summer in bricktown. He was supposed to open for Willie, at the zoo, but Willie cancelled. We could literally touch him from where we were standing. Hotter than hades buy amazing. Would love to see Sturgill like that.

I'm guessing one of your guys' wife's were wearing a shirt with a Pete logo on front. Heard her talking about Cain's on the way out. Was going to give her a go pokes, but she didn't make eye contact.
