Did I read that correctly?

I still can't fricken' believe that I can't buy any kind of alcohol that I want, at the temperature that I want, it at any general retail location.

it's like going to the oklahoma casinos with no dice...so to speak. It can't be simple here in oklahoma. I'm betting it gets screwed up some way.

Get out of the bible belt :D

Having said that, I really don't see the harm in having it available everywhere, kept as it should be, and purchasable everyday. It is more of a convenience thing and has nothing to do with bringing on more problems. So, yeah, a guy won't drink on Sundays since it isn't on sale at his local grocery?

It looks like what was invalidated, if this is what you're talking about, is a different petition that the liquor stores put forward. I think the possibility of wine in grocery stores is still going forward.

You are correct. This was put forward by the liquor store supporters. This is not the bill currently going through the legislature to change liquor laws. As of now it looks promising that it will be on the November ballot.

This proposed bill that was shot down was a total "false flag" bill from the liquor retailers designed to try to confuse and stymie the actually good bill.

The retail liquor association one got invalidated. But it would have allowed one license for a single retailer to sell in a single store and buy three more from liquor store license holders.

Like @Marshal Jim Duncan said, this was a completely anti-competitive proposition that would have done more to keep strong cold beer out of convenient locations than helped it.

Jolley's bill is in conference committee.....don't know if it'll get out, but it still has a chance. If it doesn't, the grocery store retailers association will likely ramp up on their own ballot proposal petition.

The bill I'm more interested in seeing pass is the one that will allow craft brewers to sell their own strong beer on site. Right now they can only sell 3.2 ABW beers on site and give limited samples of their strong beers.
