I was watching a WWII in HD marathon this morning and one of the episodes was about the build up to the DDay invasion.
One of the guys being interviewed was Lt Charles Scheffel.
He was recounting an address of troops by a colonel and Scheffel described him this way, "he was pacing back and forth like Coach Iba before a big game."
A quick google shows Scheffel went to Oklahoma A&M on a basketball scholarship and played for Iba before graduating from the ROTC program in 1942 and shipping off to Europe.
He passed away in 2011.
Cool reference. Good show to watch for history and photography buffs. Rare remastered color film.
