Even the final paragraphs discussing "pro immigration" are inadequate to answer what issues people vote on. 71% of people may be pro-immigration, but a more refined question (or a good follow-up question) would be something like "Should immigrants be required to follow a legal path to a Visa or citizenship?"

Almost all polls, unfortunately, are attempting to either tailor a narrative or are simply poorly designed by whomever is putting them together.

Exactly. That is why one should always view “poll results” with suspicion.

I did find the inside/outside analysis very interesting.
