Islam runs counter to everything the Left purports to hold dear....women rights, gay rights, minority rights, etc.... The marriage between the two is puzzling imo.
Have been saying this for years.
The left has teamed up with radical Islam because radical Islam hates the Western world as much if not more than the left does.
Radical Islam certainly doesn't like western values, including those espoused by liberals. Muslims are just another victim peg on the Democrats coat rack. They've continued the rhetoric of we're not at war with Islam so much they now believe the right is actually trying to wage war against an entire religion.
You know they purchased the beachfront property in Idaho when they started claiming that Islamophobia contributes to terrorism.
I've been saying it for years too.
But outside of white liberals (a shrinking part of the left), many groups / "tribes" that make up the left have little concern with gender equality, gay rights etc ---- unless it's a means to a political end (i.e. weakening some other group)
Two examples perfectly sum this up.
First, the infamous video from last year of the woman getting surrounded / screamed at / pelted by a massive mob in San Jose.
There was almost total silence from feminists etc on this (because the woman was on the wrong "team," her female victim identity was cast aside, and she was disposable).
And second, because most of the men surrounding the women were hispanic (higher on the victimhood hierarchy than a white person) --- they got a pass.
If this had been a huge group of white men surrounding a hispanic or arab women -- this video would have been one of the most iconic and frequently broadcast scenes of the last few decades
And second, the 2016 NYE mass sexual assaults of 1200 women in Cologne, Germany.
Almost erased from public discourse --- because the victims (white European women) were ranked lower the perpetrators (north African and Arabic men).
Few of the men who committed the assaults were arrested, most are still free, and Germany continued its same path.

100% true. This scene should've been shocking to feminists. But the simple answer is leftist ideology is never about what it says it is.
