I sure didn't think this walking out of the stadium Thursday but I do now. All we knew about our team is what we were told by a handful of reporters who probably had many motives the main one being selling tickets at the request of our Athletic Department. CMU was a Iowa State or Tulsa type of team. I think that CMU would beat both at home.

We now have seen our team and can project the season from our own vision. If your an orange koolaid drinker then 9 or ten wins sounds about right. If you are a non believer 7 wins is probably the ceiling for you. Personally I have no idea but hope for 9 and that might be tough.

Our coaches saw what they had seen all fall camp . The game was not a big shocker . The defense was a surprise prior to the game the talk in the local bar was that the coaches thought we had a shot at a shut out, No one was bragging about our offense which surprised me. If the OL can't be fixed we will be middle of the pack in conference. I'm wondering if the two Frosh OL will be given a shot to play in the near future if we need them?

I think we will be okay on offense but that might mean only 27 to 30 points against good teams. I don't think our defense will hold 4 of our conference foes to less than 30.

If there is anything good about our first game I don't worry as much and have no trouble sleeping through the night.
