Leading up to midterms they were just forced to pledge themselves to open borders. And still most Dems think he’s in over his head. That’s straight Sun Tzu stuff right there.

You don’t have to pledge yourself to open borders to counter his claim that he will end birthright citizenship.

So if they did that dance, it’s because they are dumb not because of high level Sun Tzu stuff.
 
That's your narrative? As it becomes more clear that he can't do what he wants via XO, the explanation must be that this was all part of his dastardly plan. (insert roll eye gif here)

Ending birthright birthright citizenship can’t be done by EO because it is a constitutional right. Any talk of doing that is a ridiculous overreaction...a “solution” looking for a problem.

Well you probably have a point. It was probably more like a bet he won with Cocaine Mitch that he could make them beg for open borders by Wednesday.
 
Actually I believe it's is a clarification from the head of the government about the definition of birthright citizenship and what jurisdiction means

He can point out by executive order that jurisdiction means the people born here from parents that are here and have an aleagence to this country are citizens. This would leave out people whose parents are here illegally and those that are here on birth vacations.

It is clear that the folks who wrote the 14th admendmant had a very specific definition of what jurisdiction meant. And it did not mean just anyone born here

Lots of conjecture and assumption here, no actual legal basis for an argument. A strict constitutionalist would tell you that the words of the text are clear...

“All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”


One could easily refute your interpretation of jurisdiction with an argument that one who risks life, liberty and property to legally and/or illegally enter our country automatically conceded to American legal jurisdiction and adjudication already. They would literally rather be arrested and detained in America than walking free in their home country.
