I need some help - over reactions to our embassy being moved to Jerusalem

Think people were worried that would end our ability to be reliable negotiators in the quest for peace there. Reality is if you cut off the money, like this administration has done, and that will do more to get the Palestinian leadership back to the table than anything else.

All the other “dire warning” are the same as children will die in the streets without universal healthcare, republicans want to roll grandma off the cliff and the Supreme Court with Kavanaugh is going to roll back LGTB rights, outlaw abortions etc. Fear monger it at its best.

Yes, blessed are the peacemakers. I'm sure Jesus would be proud of Christian Biff for the needless violence. Loss of human life means nothing to him. Hell his crew likes it, just like the last republican president's foreign policy team, imp, ratchet, wharry, etc.

Tbh I hadn’t seen any legitimate political reason to move the embassy to Jerusalem in the first place.
It was passed in law to move it to Jerusalem in 1995. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Countries get to name their own capital city, not everyone other than that country.

Embassies are typically located in a country's capital for access to that country's federal government. That's common sense. The US has nearly all of our embassies in the capitals of other counties. There are only a few cases where the host country has requested the embassy be located some place other than the capital city, such as the Netherlands and the Holy See.
