Is he expected to have two years of eligibility or three years left? It looks like he was injured in 2015-2016. 2016-2017 he competed, but not in duals. 2017-2018 obviously was All-American. Would he possibly receive a medical year for 2015-2016 and still have three years of competition available?

I don't know. They gave Grant Leeth over at Missouri 2 extra years for basically the same thing so I don't think it's too far-fetched.
I am pretty sure that the years in question, 2015-2016, he took a regular redshirt so I really don't think he would be eligible. To be eligible, he would have needed to miss either 2016-2017 or 2017-2018.
