This writer wants to entice Tulsi Gabbard to become a Republican. Would she do it? Would she be accepted? Would it help anything? He thinks she has a stronger will than Donald Trump (on that I agree). But I don’t think she would carry the MAGA mantel, as he seems to think, She would strike the fear of God into the pro-war neocon element currently running the party into the ground. Nikki Haley and Liz Cheney would be shown to be closer to Hillary Clinton than the average American. There would be that!

"a stronger will than DJT?" You might want to be a bit more circumspect than believing that.....she has run how many successful businesses? She has had the press dog pile her like Trump how many times? She's been a non-politician and been elected president how many times?

If she had a "stronger will" she would have already ditched the libcoms and at least become an independent. I like the lady and think in the right position (Sec of Defense) she could do some serious damage to the swamp crowd, but she's a has been and the chances of her switching (which I would welcome) are infinitesimally slim to non-existent.

What many are no longer discounting is the lack of forgiveness elected candidates (R's) are going to get come primary time for betraying an elected president and then dancing a jig over his loss and slew of false to slanderous charges/accusations. Many of those people are going to lose their seats and you can bet Trump will be front and center helping drive nails in their political coffins. To keep power with traitors and weakling is to only give your opponents the ability, will and backbone to walk all over you and ultimately lose power.

I won't see many more presidential elections and will probably write my own obit when the time gets close which shall include these four things I truly regret in this life politically (to date); voting for and or believing anything that Bush I, Bush II, McCrook and Romney said. There are thousands of politicians who couldn't have taking .00005% of the shit Trump took and will take forever as he continues to speak about and promulgate what you believe is right even given the heat it brings down on him and his family. That is a very "strong will," maybe your girlfriend will get there, but I seriously doubt it.

Does the article acknowledge that she’s not on the right in any way shape or form and that her appeal to non-raging leftists simply comes from personal characteristics of intellectual honesty and integrity (rightly or wrongly)?

The article not so much. The Comments section, yes, big time. The article was not received well by most of the commenters. The article seems to think she would appeal to the younger voter, a sector the author worries is being lost to the Democrats. Maybe so, maybe not. That she is left wing is without question. I do not think she is socialist in the Bernie Sanders/AOC tradition. She is a leftist but is not an ideologue as far as I can tell. While running for President she repeatedly said she would seek consensus and had no desire to ram her personal beliefs down peoples’ throats. I want to believe her, but she is a politician, so who knows if she was being honest about it. She was my choice in 2020. I think she would have made a fine executive. I’m not sure I can see her as a Republican, however.

Oh, yes, I think she is definitely stronger willed than DJT. I don’t say that as a slam
on him, but a compliment to her. She was very much vilified by establishment Democrats, Clintonistas, NeoCons and NeoLiberals, the MSM, and the “swamp” that is responsible for our forever wars. I was proud of her that she never backed down from any of them, never lost her cool (as DJT was prone to do). DJT was/is a reactionary, pinballed himself from one controversy to another without ever bringing one to an end before launching into another. The most impressive characteristic Gabbard has is her ability to stay on point from beginning to end. Again, I’m not attempting to besmirch Trump’s good name with those that idolize him. I just think Tulsi Gabbard has more strength and character in her pinkie finger than almost any other politician alive. That’s probably why she will never get anywhere in traditional party politics.

She's anti-Israel. A big nope for me.
I know she criticized Israel for using live ammunition against unarmed demonstrations in Gaza. And I know she supports a “two state” policy regarding Israel and Palestine. I don’t know how either of those two things would translate into her being anti-Israel. So I assume it is something else you know that I don’t know. Would you care to say what it is?

You mean the Gazans who use civilians as human shields and hide in ambulances, libraries, residential areas, and hospitals? You mean the Gazans who send flaming ordinance and rockets into Southern Israel? As soon as that ceases maybe we can talk about some semblance of a two state solution, or making the sane Palestinians Israeli citizens.

This is what gives Gabbard away:

"“I know how important our enduring alliance with Israel is,” she wrote. “My vote upholds my commitment to maintaining and strengthening this alliance, as well as my long-held position that the most viable path to peace between Israel and Palestine can be found through both sides negotiating a two-state solution. While I remain concerned about aspects of the UN resolution, I share the Obama administration’s reservation about the harmful impact Israeli settlement activity has on the prospects for peace.”

There is no such place as "Palestine", and it's a dog whistle for the BDS 'tards.

I think the particular criticism came when unarmed Palestinians rioted over the US declaring Jerusalem the capitol and were met with a hail of gunfire from the Israeli army resulting in the deaths of several dozen rioters. I’m not sure if any of them were using their fellow citizens as human shields or hiding in ambulances, etc., they may have, but they were unarmed and didn’t use weapons to shoot back that day, if I understand correctly. IMO criticizing Israel for that action does not make a person anti-Israel. I guess we see it differently.

“There is no such place as ‘Palestine’ ...”

You might want to pass that information on to the rest of the world. It seems to think there is;

I go by historical boundaries, not what some globalist terror enablers think.

Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, and others messed with the bull in 1948, 1967, and 1973 and got the horns every time, and the Arab world is more than happy to use the refugees from their attacks as pawns on the world political stage.

Would you please explain what any of that has to do with your notion that Tulsi Gabbard has been/is anti-Israel?
