PLAYING FAST. There was a big article in the DOK today about playing fast. The coaches(Gundy and Yurcich) both said we needed to play faster. The players(Glidden and Rudolph) said we need to play faster. When Yurcich was hired we were told he would play faster than Monken did. All the talk in practice was about playing fast(one practice report said we were getting plays off with 25 seconds left on the clock) Since them, we have been methodical much more that we have been fast.
Both the coaches and the players agreed we get into a better rythym when we are playing fast. Our TD drive after CMU took the lead is a good example. We played with urgency. We got the QB, the depth at WR, and the RB's to play fast. It would help our OL for the defense not to get set, for the defense to get tired, and for the defense to stay on their heels.
Let's quit talking about playing fast and go do it. And I don't mean just this weekend when we are at home against a patsy. Let's be ready to go to Austin and put a beat down on the Horns.
