It is the same old BS we were hearing about OSU in 2011. I keep hearing about how BU/TCU are high powered offenses who can't stop anyone and how they will have little chance if they make the CFP against a strong defensive team from the SEC or BIG. The pundits have no respect for the Big 12 and act like all the teams are up-tempo high scoring offenses that can not play any defense. The Iowa State loss in 2011 kept OSU from shutting a lot of the talking heads mouths. It didn't help that Baylor lost their bowl game to MSU last season. BU put up plenty of points, but was unable to hold Sparty's offense down.
On the one hand, it bothers me that the conference is thought of as some kind of mutation where football is played differently than in other conferences. At the same time, I am hoping that OSU's defense is able to significantly slow down the Tech, TCU and BU offenses and show that it is possible to defend these high powered offenses. We did it to Baylor in 2013, but allowed them to still win the Big 12, so that performance was overlooked.
