I'm thinking you tell the Mexican government you are planning on taxing all money transferred to Mexico at a 50% rate in order to pay for the wall.

However, if Mexico wanted to tax all money transferred into their country at a 10% rate in order to pay for the wall, then we will abandon our own tax plan. Oh, and we're going to need that money up front to pay for the wall, so you'd better start taxing now.

Let them decide which way they want it to go.

What do you guys think? Would that work? Got any improvements to offer or alternative ideas?

We will need them on the north side of the wall in order to have some money being transferred

Finally, a tax plan you all can support. Too bad it isn't funding something valuable like education or what not...

Round up those you want to deport. Send them to the border. Put them to work building the wall/fence AND pay them market wages. After a week or two, send them across the border with a pocket full of money. Rinse and repeat. Win win win.

So... we pay for the wall.. and then the money goes out of the country instead of in US workers hands. o_O

We're going to pay for the wall initially. It's questionable if we get repaid. While we're building the wall the illegals will still be here working and sending money out of the country. I doubt you'll see many chronically unemployed Sec. 8 tenants volunteering to go to the border to erect a wall regardless of what is paid anymore than you'll see them going to the farms to do the work being done by illegals. Nor do I believe unemployed US workers in the rust belt will be jumping at the opportunity to move to the southern border to work on a temporary project. Now, you might if the government starts taking their entitlements away but I won't hold my breath. How many recent graduates who are unemployed are going to volunteer for laborer jobs? How many unemployed US workers have the skills and training to do construction jobs especially since construction is booming in many areas of the country. Those with construction backgrounds might prefer staying in their locales.

I have a hard time believing that we couldn't find US construction companies and workers to build the wall. I mean hell, that's the one thing I think the wall actually has going for it is US job creation. But, if you are correct that there is a large shortage of construction workers(I have no clue if thats true) then I see what you are saying. I guess I'm sort of confused as to why there is a shortage of construction workers though if the economy is so horrific due to 8 years of Obama.
