I think most agree our immigration system is broken. Genuinely curious on our thoughts on here.

Republicans are very pro border security... namely a wall. And against sanctuary cities.

Democrats seem to be very pro-sanctuary city and very against a physical wall.

What is your solution for the issue?

Increased border patrols, funding for high tech surveillance techniques and tools (virtual wall), and a physical wall in places it makes sense rather than across the contiguous southern border as Trump is insisting on.

Sanctuary cities...remove federal grant funding for LE in those cities/states and enhanced federal enforcement focus and enforcement in those areas and give it to the cities and states that do. IMO, immigration enforcement is the responsibility of the fed and to attempt to force cities and states to assist in those efforts violates federalism principles...but you sure don’t have to continue rewarding them with federal grants if they choose not to assist and sure can reward those who do (carrot v the stick).

Greater enforcement against those that hire illegal workers. They are largely getting a free pass right now. I would also like to see more legal immigration instead of the efforts to restrict immigration.

Also, it looks you changed the title to direct this at Democrats. I’m not a Democrat, but answered anyway.

Deporting undocumented immigrants who contribute to the economy just to deport them is nonsensical. Establish a primarily fine-based penalty system taking into consideration criminal record, length of time of violation and previous deportation status.

For instance, deporting “illegal immigrants” who are an adequate combination of educated, employed, pay taxes, own homes, etc. is just dumb. Establish the fine, take in revenue, and keep these skilled workers in our economy. (Why not in their own country blah blah blah) - that’s a globalist mentality that “anti”-globalists take and it’s hilariously ignorant. Why not keep them here? Why not punish them in a reasonable and economically practical manner?

It’s some of the dumbest stuff I read on this board in regards to immigration.

I remember this, it actually happened:

Living rent free 24/7.
You have illegals living with you? Are these dudes that impregnated your daughter(s) or babies mommas from your son(s)? Either way, congrats on giving shelter to those folks Trump wants to deport. Hopefully you don't have the staff them cleaning up after you.

Should I be disturbed or flattered by this?

I'll take it as affirmation that at the very least some of you are paying attention.

One of or all of the above?
There isn’t one illegal immigrant that is educated, employed, pays taxes and owns a home.

I know some who own a home and are employed. Very few who pay taxes. None who are college educated.

Once again, I guess I am just dumb for wanting these illegals off the tit.

Makes a lot of sense to me. Seems like common sense.

Like your list JD. Not even against more vs less immigrants, would be best though if the majority had pliable skills that allow them to almost immediately support themselves and or their family.

I would agree with everything with a few additions. Let's truly differentiate between law abiding familial aliens who are good citizens (not in the US legal sense, but in the moral sense) and those who are thugs and criminals.

Let's provide a pathway for the good people and persecute the hell out of the bad people. If we make a few mistakes and persecute a few good people, that is OK. They are, in fact, breaking the law. If we make a few mistakes and let some bad people through the cracks, that is ok. Shit happens.

And lets make sure that they don't access our tax dollars UNTIL they have made it all the way through our "pathway" and are citizens. Until then, they are welcome guests.

But to paint all illegal aliens in one broad brush is stupid. It can't be that hard.
