I just can't see how the Dems will take the house. This administration and Congress is putting money back into peoples pockets which hasn't happened in a long time. Why would anyone vote a Dem back into their position if they voted against this tax cut?

About the mid terms. Have any of you guys ever read a history book? On average, the sitting party loses 25 seats at the midterm elections. Presidents with an approval rating below 50% lose on average 36 seats.
I also believe that in this hyper partisan times that jobs or any other single factor no longer matter.

If every there was a time to toss conventional wisdom on election cycles out the window it would be this year. I would be all in thinking that the party in power will lose a tons of seats if their opponents had anything of sustenance to run on, but they don't and the more they trot out HRC, Maxine "The Russians are after me" Water, Pelosi and others it really really really makes them look completely out of touch.
The other thing is Trump, seems to be growing into his skin easier than before. He hasn't made as many forced errors of late and has actually created a concrete example of why he really does care for the American people more than he cares for career politicians. Going to be interesting for sure, I just don't see the swing that "conventional wisdom/averages" says will happen unless Trump does something incredibly dumb.

I'd say there's a better than a 50/50 chance, but it's far from a slam dunk. Good chance they lose a seat or two in the Senate.

I think there are something like 30 Republicans that are retiring as opposed to 18 for the Dems, putting the Dems in an even better winning position that what normally occurs in a mid-term after a new POTUS takes office.
I'll go on record with my prediction:

Once the Dem party detaches from its adopted underpinning philosophy and migrates more toward the middle, they'll be relevant again.

- Dems against protecting an unborn child at even 20 weeks.
- Dems in favor of keeping government shady.
- Dems throws tantrums better and more frequently than toddlers. It's on film.
- Cash on hand and cash pledged.

Told you all the Dems would dismiss the memo, they already had their talking points before it was released. No reason to even engage with them on this Board anymore, complete waste of time. Nothing will change their minds. No amount of facts can change them from rooting for their team.
No matter what comes out on Trump it will be hailed at proof of something, anything, it will be cause enough for impeachment. Difference will be if Trump in fact did something wrong, a good part of Reps will want justice.
Best efforts are spent on those who are not sure who to vote for in the upcoming elections. This board is now completely waste of space, Dems are ok with a level of corruption never before seen in US history and they call it nothing. Even though I knew it would happen I still had some faith that perhaps they could get past their own ego and team, and put the county first.
So disappointed in the brainwashing of this country and the fact politics has become another form of religion.
I hope and pray indictments are handed out, charges are made, if the charges are proven people get jail time and all their wealth taken away.
