Seriously, if he can just complete coherent sentences tonight will be considered a win. Think about that, for someone running for president of the US, simply being able to complete a sentence will be considered a successful debate. Oh how far we have fallen as a country. Technically the same can be true for Trump as well. Pathetic what we are rolling out as presidential these days.

In other words, his expectations are lower than a highly trained border collie.

And whose fault is this?

btw, I don't think Biden's expectations are as low as you guys are whining about. But clearly, the Trump campaign didn't do a good job framing the expectations game. No one to blame there but the Trump campaign.

The idea that the trump campaign could do anything differently to change the mind of you and your buddies is completely laughable

Obviously Biden is terrible. I used to think Trump was a bad candidate but I am now convinced that he was literally the only person capable of saving this country from socialism (for now).

It isn't about changing the mind of Biden supporters. It is about winning the expectations game.

The whole "Joe has dementia" talking point that the Trump campaign and their conservative media lackeys have pushed has lowered the bar for Biden in this debate. All the attacks on Biden's mental status have only served to lower expectations. That is why the talking point makes NO sense for the Trump campaign. The talking point only plays with the Trump base but serves to benefit Biden when it comes to expectations.

The Trump campaign should have been building Biden up over the past few weeks. Talking about his extensive political experience, his political and policy knowledge, etc. It is about winning the expectations game, not just throwing out stupid talking points to your base.

btw, while I do think Biden's expectations are low tonight, he still has to perform well. He can't make any serious blunders. Also, typically, the first debate is usually harder for an incumbent President. Biden needs to make sure this is the case tonight by going after Trump and placing Trump on the defensive.

the attacks are typical but obiden has given plenty of examples why dementia is a concern. Obiden may come off fine, just hard to say. You really can't medicate dementia away.

Watching videos of Biden eight to ten years ago it's obvious he is not as sharp as he used to be. Nothing wrong with getting old but there is when that person wants to be the President of the United States.

There should be no expectations game. In the eyes of any reasonable person, “Joe has dementia” shouldn’t lower any expectations, it should paint him as unfit to serve in the most powerful position in the world.

The guy is a polished debater with 50 years experience. Being the vp and a powerful senator makes him the odds on favorite to moonwalk all over trump with sharp quick witted responses full of his own personal dealings on the world stage. I look forward to him showing his life’s work tonight.

But there is. There always is as it relates to political debates. That is political reality.

In the eyes of the reasonable person, "Joe has dementia" makes them roll their eyes and laugh. They see it for what it is . . . a lame talking point/attack put out by the Trump campaign. It also makes a reasonable person then consider Trump's mental status, which isn't a positive for Trump lol!

The only people who really buy this dementia nonsense are Trump supporters.

And this is exactly the type of talking points the Trump campaign should have been spinning before this debate. Building Biden and his experience up. Setting the bar high for Biden, not low like they did.

so which one Is losing their marbles? I’ve admitted several times that trump probably has aspartame poisoning. Can you admit that Biden is about 40% brain capacity from when he was a senator?

My point is simply that the whole "Biden has dementia" talking point/attack from the Trump campaign doesn't work for them (except with their supporters who drink up the kool-aid). It lowers expectations for Biden and then makes every one consider Trump's own mental abilities. Which again, isn't a positive for Trump!

but you do admit that the democrats put someone up to lead the free world that is in obvious mental decline or not?

No, I don't admit this. Again, this is a Trump campaign talking point/attack that doesn't help the Trump campaign.

Biden will literally piss himself tonight. Think about that while you’re watching.

You seem dumber every time you stop by. Do you huff paint, carburetor cleaner, or glue?

Sorry toon_cents, the whole world can see that Biden belongs in a lockdown memory care facility. Don't take that personally. What you should take personally is that Biden is the best you Dimbeciles have. Ouch.

Joe has done a pretty good job at setting the bar as low as anyone could.

I expect them to have to wake him up at some point in the debate, and if they stink gets bad enough to change his diaper.

Not me, unless he's coming down to Texas to run.

Not much recap of the debate needed. A rough debate to watch and a disgusting/insulting performance by a sitting United States President. Trump (and his supporters) should be ashamed by the way in which Trump acted during the debate. I am sure though they aren't.

Biden's performance was average at best I thought, but given how bad Trump looked, Biden came away looking presidential. Biden also got in a few good shots against Trump that clearly rattled Trump and caused him to go even more over the top.

Biden clearly won the first debate. Trump did nothing to help his campaign and he may have actually hurt his campaign.
