Anyone have one? Wife got me one for Christmas and just got my 2nd shipment. Pretty cool machine. Pours a great cold draft beer. Fits on the countertop.

No options to buy the torpedos anywhere that I see except through the website. It’s $14.99 for a 2 liter torpedo. The club is 4 torps at a time for $14.99 each plus $14.99 shipping and additional tax. Basically $80 a month for 8 liters of draft craft beer at the house.

I got two IPAs, a saison and a porter with this shipment. I broke the porter out. Very solid. Winner winner robust porter is the name. Can’t remember the brewery.

I've seen those and wondered how they would be. Beer didn't get flat? o you keep the other torpedos in the fridge to keep them cold?

You can keep the other ones in your beer fridge and they are ready immediately when you put them in the system. The Sub system itself has refrigeration so it will cool one down and keep it cold but it takes about 4-5 hours. When you pour a glass a pump kicks on and keeps the torpedo charged.

They say they’ll stay charged and good for two weeks after you put them in the machine. But once you put it in the Sub you can’t take it out, so no switching back and forth between the beers. You pick your torpedo and that’s what you have until you finish it.

You can find deals where you can get the Hopsy SUB system, 2 beers, and 2 glasses for $50-$99 but you have to make a 3 month club commitment or they charge you if you cancel. But there’s literally no where else to get beer torps so I don’t see why anyone would cancel. It is a little pricy when you think about $80 at a time, but it’s cheaper then going to a bar and getting that many craft draft beers and its on par with your local liquor store buying cans and bottles especially now when all the brewers are going to 4 packs for $9-$11. The $15 shipping bothers me more than anything.

I have look at this product several times. Do their a la carte selections change periodically? Just a quick look at their site and I could only find like a few to choose from + boxes, etc.

Yes. When you are a “club” member getting either 4 or 6 torps per month you get 48 hours to chose your beers after they build your shipment. They automatically put beers in there based on your preferences and you can switch them out if you want. They have rotating breweries from all over the country. Their website really sucks of you aren’t a member. It isn’t a huge selection and it changes every month. I think there were 20 or so beers to chose from this month. Porters, IPA, APA, Stout, Pilsner, a saison and so on. I’ve had 6 beers so far and they have all been solid. I put club in quotes because there’s no reason not to be in the club. Their marketing strategy is strange.

For example they build my next box on Feb 7th and I have till the 9th to confirm my selections.

It’s creepy how advertising works. I’m talking about it here and I just got an ad on Facebook and email that says if I invite a friend they’ll get a free Sub system (which is the tap).

I pulled up my order for this month.
Now Boarding IPA from Hermitage
Winner Winner Robust Porter from Hermitage
GB Czech-Style Pilsner from Gordon Biersch
La Joie De L’Hiver Saison style from Ale Industries

So someone gets a free beer tap think? The main system? They just need to sign up for the beer?

Yes. It looks like you would get a free beer system it’s called “The Sub”. It looks like I get a $1 box of beer for referring you. I don’t know what your requirements would be. I’d assume you’d have to be in the “club” for 3 months or they’d charge you to cancel.

This months club box.
Explorer ESB - Strong Bitter from New English Brewing
Blind Knight Chocolate Porter - American Porter from Sonoma Springs
Cave Raider Blonde Bock - Maibock from Gordon Biersch
Cliff Hanger Marzen - Marzen from Gordon Biersch

A friend of mine years ago got a tap installed at his house. It took about a month to realize that we were both way to much alcoholics to have such capability at our fingertips.
