Wrote this in the GoT thread and moved it. HBO will have pulled a 180 if DT struggles like GoT did, imo. No reason to think DT will have problems, though, I have liked the casting all along and expect good things from all the actors. The first season was boosted by great performances from actors all the way down to bit parts. I expect the same this year.
I can't stomach Dwayne Johnson and a series starring Dwayne Johnson acting like DJ is completely off my radar. I expect Ballers to inspire lots of oohs and ahhs from many here. I can live with that. I'll not partake.
The Brink with Jack Black and Tim Robbins could be very good, or could become very tedious if the jokes don't fly. I like both the guys. We'll see how Robbins handles comedy.
