I had a phone call with a client in Hawaii yesterday who told me about this. Apparently, there is a caldera above an older volcano that normally is filled with "liquid, hot MAGMA" (cue Dr. Evil) that has basically drained away. The thought is that lava is going somewhere underground, rather than it simply stopped producing lava, but they're not certain where it is flowing. That lava that is now flowing underground is setting off smaller earthquakes all over the place (majority of them are less than 3.0's on the Seismic scale, with most in the 1-2 range).

But that's still a buttload of earthquakes in such a short amount of time and people close to their are prepping to make a run for it. BTW, he's an engineer who works at the power plant part-time and apparently it's located right above where most of the problems and lava is flowing.

We've always thought the aliens were in space.

Little did we know they live in the core of the earth
