I'll bite. How is Mao Zedong history's elephant in the room? He's not perfect, but he did drive imperialism out of China and set the country on the path of the China we see today. From a historical perspective, he was a pretty brilliant guy.

Don’t do this...please...he might start thinking you are taking him seriously.
Liberties that for some reason are only taken when we talk about communists.
anti communist propaganda left over from the cold warseems sinister. what do you think that reason is?

anti communist propaganda left over from the cold war
However you want to call it.Or... nazi sympathies from the far right?
Regardless... communists get a bad rap?
Yeah that book is riddled with factual and methodological errors.
To me, a butcher is a butcher is a butcher, but the left absolutely loved Russia when the communist murders were in charge there and ruling half of Europe.
Nah, he'll avoid the question. If he does respond, it'll be with something about Jews and Japan being a homogeneous nation. I just like the occasional entertainment opportunity where I can write the joke myself.Don’t do this...please...he might start thinking you are taking him seriously.
Few people bring up (these days) Eastern Europe’s descent into communism after WW2 ended — and their history.
Even in Europe it rarely gets talked about, and movies about it are rarely made.
I recently got this book on it — haven’t started it yet, but it’s supposed to be outstanding.

One of the first times I began to question my 2008 Obama vote (and strong support) was when his White House communications director praised Mao.
This didn't make me stop supporting him -- but I started to be slightly open to different information about him.
Because I had studied Mao, and I remember seeing the clip above, I couldn't just dismiss it.
Before then, I usually insantly rejected negative information about Obama as angry old white people, Christian fascists and Fox News neocons -- I wouldn't really even acknowledge the information, or allow the information to permeate my brain.
It was almost like Pavlov's dog or something, instant rejection of information. I was a true believer.
But I couldn't just dismiss his cabinet member praising Mao. Have you heard of the Great Leap Forward?? Insane shit.
Really it just sounds like he exchanged one spoon fed narrative for another spoon fed narrative. You were conditioned from birth via the mass media to hate the mainstream culture of your country= you were a victim of Cultural Marxism. Thankfully you opened up your eyes and pulled your head out of your *ss.
I don't understand why this is even a point of contention. After enduring Mao, I think we can all agree:
#Chinese-Lives-Matter-Too
#Communism-Sucks

Because socialism and communism has extremely widespread support amongst millennials — a larger population group than baby boomers.
This stuff is not going away, despite what people believed when the USSR crashed in the early 90s.
“A survey released by the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation last month found the majority of American millennials would rather live under socialism or communism than capitalism.
Fifty-one percent chose either socialism or communism as their preferred arrangement, while 42 percent said they were in favor of capitalism and 7 percent in favor of fascism.”

“I’m a communist you idiot” is my favorite line of the summer

At least she's honest.
Waiting for the others to come out of the closet.
And yes, @davidallen, I do remember you already fessed up.

Your attempt at humor is misplaced in this situation. I think NZ is saying that Nazis and Communists are equally as bad, but that Communism just seems to be more in vogue at this point in time for some reason as yet unexplained on these boards or anywhere else for that matter.#FacismIsNotAsBadAsCommunism
Is a hashtag you should DEFINITELY get trending @NZ Poke.

Well, hate groups like Antifa are undoubtedly funded.Explain the historic rise in white nationalism and hate groups.
