Can't see how this person can survive this type of gaffe going forward. Maybe before the idiot current resident, but not now. Nothing pols do these days really surprises me, but she is really stretching it here to suggest that with a net worth of ~50 million she isn't like everyone else with that or more.

"Hillary Clinton, who has a net worth upwards of $50 million, said in an interview that she is
"unlike a lot of people who are truly well off."

I agree that Hilary is done. At this point I don't think she is even going to run. However, she can play cover for whoever is. So, if she is not running who is?

Biden has exceeded his zenith. Kerry has reached the limit of what he can achieve. There really is no Obama in waiting. Is there a viable Dem candidate? Personally I think the Dem's best bet would be someone like a Petraeus, but they put the knife deep in that back.

Never underestimate the ego of a Clinton.

I wonder if they send a Christmas card to the Perots every year in appreciation for handing them their careets outside of Arkansas?

It all depends on if a GOP challenger will have the gonads to run hard hitting commercials point out these gaffes. McCain and Romney didn't have anyone in their campaigns interested in going after Obama. They were all fearful they would be labeled a racist. The GOP needs take no prisoner Lee Atwater types.

I think Hillary will win. People will vote for her for some of the same reasons they voted for Obama.

If she doesn't run, which I think she won't, CUP will have to be put on suicide watch. At least until the democratic nominee is selected, at which he will proclaim him to be a Reagan//Obama/Kennedy/Socrates clone.

You guys are fooling yourselves. She's not only going to run, she's going to win. You seem to forget we live in a time when people have become so saturated by sensational scandals that they simply don't care anymore.

We feel good about electing the first black president even though we don't think he's doing a good job (I mean it would be racist to actually say that, bless his heart), so the next thing we need to fix now that racism doesn't exist anymore is the dark specter of sexism.

Hillary has a dusty old vag, so she'll do. Plus her name reminds us of happier bubble economy times.

Easy Cheesy, bitches.

I agree with all of this if she is actually healthy enough or can pretend to be during a grueling campaign.

Hummm Mega we'll have to do one of those gentlemens bets on this one. I don't think she'll even run and will use the grandbabys birth as reason number 1. Plus if any of the health issues you read about are true (especially the blood clots due to excessive air travel) are true no way she can stand the rigors of a campaign.

Additionally she's the second "snake oil salesmen to come to town" the current person in the WH was a relatively unknown commodity for many and certainly participating in a historical election drew out a crowd along with the fact that McCain was a horrible candidate (along the lines of Dole in 1996). Now there is a cornucopia of baggage with her, from lying about a rape victim, futures deal and on and on. Plus I think she will have some serious completion from within her own party who don't see her as liberal enough (go figure) hopefully we see O'Malley for win, place or show.

As a poster above said though, whomever the republicans nominate they had better come out swinging and not take a load of crud. We shall see though....hard to believe that election is still 2 years 4 months off.

I can't see her making it through a rough campaign.

I personally love Biden, but I don't know how he'll go over with the electorate.

I can't believe there aren't more candidates rambling around right now. The field looks wide open once you get past the top two obvious institutional candidates, and they're both old. Strangely, the sickfats have the youthful candidates right now.

Agree - much of her appeal is her association with the 90s Clinton economy and prosperity. It may have been a bubble economy but we also had a surplus......particularly in Clinton's second term when he worked with the Republican majority.

Also, if the GOP puts out another candidate who's for 'limited government' but also social issues meddling it's done for.

I'm telling you all, marijuana is going to be a MASSIVE issue for the 18 - 35 vote and test for the GOP. It's all these GOP issues and core values rolled into one (haha)......free market capitalism, owning your own business, personal freedom, states rights.

Mega nailled it.

The Repubs have exactly once chance to win and that is to run a minority at the top of the ticket. I doubt a minority makes it through the Repub primary.

Hillary is done. The canidates that you will start hearing more about are Deval Patrick and Mark Warner. Patrick is close to all the Obama supporters and is making appearances on the Sunday talk shows and attended an Iowa Dem Party big fundraiser. I like Warner the most, but he has alienated the hard core lefters in the Dem. Party by being tough on deficit decisions not always toeing the party line with his votes. He has a some red state Democratic appeal.

LOL @ writing off Hillary at this point.

That's like writing off the #1 ranked college football team when they're losing 14 - 0 with 6 minutes left in the first quarter.

I would imagine that to a lot of voters, a vote for Hillary is a vicarious vote for Bill and a return to the prosperity and governance of the 90's, which would look like puppy dogs, rainbows and lollipops compared to the last 14 yrs.

I would rather Mark Warner get in the game, self-made guy who was a great Gov (Virginia).

Well you can just about guarantee that's going to happen.

What the GOP should do...

Verbally distance themselves from "crazy" libertarian candidates, while quietly adopting their entire platform. Get out of the social conservatism business. That is for the home and church, not elected douchebags who's narcissism makes it close to impossible for them to ever live up to the impossible social ideals they are "for" wink/nudge.

Also... I can't remember the last republican presidential candidate who was ACTUALLY for limited government. Many give it some lazy fellatio when running, but then turn into unfathomable hypocrites when they start talking about using the power of government to enforce the SANCTITY OF MARRi.......zzzzzzzzzzzz

the repubs have no one to beat Hillary...she is already running the victory laps. It's over. She would have to die during the campaign to lose.

If recent weeks and 2008 have taught us one thing it's Hillilary's biggest hurdle is herself. What I wouldn't give to hear her fake negro dialect again.

My greatest hope is Hillary quits and Joe Biden is the nominee. He's the biggest political baffoon since Spiro Agnew

Si senor--Hillary is d one...:)

Hillary-Joe will be fomidible. Joe gets his turn in 2024 when he'll be elected first octogenarian POTUS.

R's have one huge problem--nobody who can carry Virginia, Nevada or Colorado, never mind Ohio, Florida and Texas.

Don't give up hope though--2032 only 18 years away....

Bout like a parking ticket now.

When I was in school at OSU possession was a felony in Texas, punishable by life in prison.

Armadillo World Headquarters changed that for all time.

Stand corrected--I meant moderates--Obama Biden won by a mile...

Indies--Joe with Hillary will win them back..

Joe will be running against Hillary, not with her. Also, I think even if Hillary died she would still win. Didn't that happen in a senate race in Missouri and then they appointed the dude's wife or something?

Someone has to beat Hillary and I can't think of a single candidate right now that can do that. Frankly she is beatable in that she has plenty of baggage and the charisma of a doorknob but who can mount a solid challenge?

Yes, because "indies" love establishment re-treads like Biden and Hillary. Solid logic.

Agreed. But Repubs may be running their own retread - aka Jeb.

Ray, you seem bright, but 2012 is kaput.

Hill may win, but I'm a stickler for quality info.

Rand Paul can beat her. They just did some polling in Florida and Hillary easily beats Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, and Palin. Rand though was only a few points behind her and he will absolutely destroy her in debates. He can do it.

Oklahoman on Dom ticket?

It could happen...

Last time I checked, Rand is still the son of "foil ears" Ron; destroying her in debates doesn't win the election. The R candidate will be skewered by the media, no matter who's the nominee. Book it; every criticism of Cankles will be "sexist" vs. Barry's "racist".
