from a high school running backs coach about the Oline. The three reasons behind a 2 point stance is:

1. You don't give away run or pass. It should always look like pass.

2. Offensive Lines that line up that way have an easier/quicker time to pull, crash, wrap, cut, or trap.

3. When you do pass, you are already set up to pass block.

You could zone block from a 2 point but it takes a reps to get good at that.

Too line up in a 2 point stance to base, one on one block is the stupidest shit ever because by alignment you start out high. Good DLineman will fire off his dominate hand right in you throat, automatically getting the OLman in a defensive position and on his heels. Also, if the Dline slants or razors on a run play, you are effin screwed. By alignment, you are too high to defend against that.

This shouldn't be a secret to anyone that thinks they might be able to coach basic football. If we continue to run the ball like we do, I suggest we get our damn hands back in the dirt, off our thighs, and fire off the damn football. We aint foolin no one but ourselves with a 2 point stance with base blocking plays.....and if you think you can run all base blocking, go to Colorado or Washington to coach because what you are smoking is legal in those places.
