Was just listening to the Mike Gundy Show w/ Hunziker and Gundy said their in-helmet headset equipment malfunctioned for most of the TU game. Gundy said early in the game he could hear the coach in the box shouting, “Bowman! Bowman can you hear me? Bowman raise your hand if you can hear me.” And Gundy told them, “Guys that’s like the seventh time you’ve asked him and he ain’t raising his damn hand. Also he’s on the field playing a game. Time to move to signals.” Later in the game it was, “Rucker! Can you hear me Rucker? Rucker!” 😂 They didn’t get it working properly until the 4th quarter when we didn’t really need it.
Apparently the equipment they use for these systems is not supposed to be moved once it’s set up. Since TU didn’t have this equipment, it got moved at some point before kickoff. Gundy said luckily now we’re in Big 12 play and everyone has it, so hopefully it shouldn’t be an issue.
