That's a great question. @Syskatine, what did Carter Page do?Page? Carter Page? What did he do?
Nope. Heard it over 30 years ago from a law professor who was also a former US attorney. You’d have heard it too, if you’d gone to a legitimate law school. You heard "process crimes" from a talking head explaining away biff's crew's criminal conduct.
Any talking point to defend the cult will work, no matter how dumb.
Something does seem fishy here.
So, you guys are saying he is absolutely innocent? Perhaps, we should allow the investigation to be completed and let the chips fall where they may. If the felonious activities are proven, then charge him. If not, publicly clear him and let him be.Do federal investigations usually include $25M dollar shake-downs? And are we sure that he's the one being investigated and not the extortion attempt? I've tried to find sourced content for these accusations, and I'm coming up short. The original NYTimes article is completely sourced anonymously. FoxNews' article sources the extortion attempt (from the guy performing the extortion) but otherwise references the NYTimes article and their own interview with Gaetz who denied everything.
I did find an interesting article on Slate (very left-wing) and it basically says that there is no public evidence of any wrong-doings by Gaetz at this time beyond having an association to a scumbag. And if Slate which was happy to try to draw a short line between Gaetz being a playboy bachelor (which he is) and being a child sex-trafficker, didn't have anything on him, then its clear that at this point, there is no public evidence that he's done anything wrong.

It all started with a local tax collector who made himself a badge and pulled over a woman for speeding.slate.com
I guess my biggest shock though is that such a #factsonly oriented individual such as @Syskatine originated this thread.

I don't know a person that disagrees with that sentiment. So, you guys are saying he is absolutely innocent? Still waiting on you to back up your strawman statements and argument from last week. Guess you're done. What a surprise.Do federal investigations usually include $25M dollar shake-downs? Quit lying.
Oh, what the hell. Keep going. I enjoy your legal takes.
Why are you discussing strawmen in the first place. Aren't you a #justthefacts it? I'd call you a guy, but I wouldn't want to mislabel you and hurt your sensitive little feelers.
Cuomo is a different matter. At this point, I tend to believe the women. He should resign ASAP!!! I find it difficult to believe all those women are lying. Just like I believe Trump paid off women to keep quiet.I don't know a person that disagrees with that sentiment.
That being said, the continued silence and inaction on Cuomo (and others) is troubling.

You might be right about Trump.Cuomo is a different matter. At this point, I tend to believe the women. He should resign ASAP!!! I find it difficult to believe all those women are lying. Just like I believe Trump paid off women to keep quiet.
Of course you do. It’s the first semblance of a legal education that you’ve ever received.Still waiting on you to back up your strawman statements and argument from last week. Guess you're done. What a surprise.

I thought he resigned?I confess I haven’t followed the scandal as closely as you. So I’m not real sure what crime he has been convicted of or what charges have been brought.
But I have a question for you, Sys. Remember when Barney Frank was one of the most powerful members of the House, and it turned out he was involved in a two-year long affair with a gay prostitute that ran a prostitution ring out of Barney’s living quarters? Do you remember how he escaped punishment by admitting to the affair but insisted he had no knowledge of his lover’s profession, or that his home was being used for illegal purposes? And how his admission and concurrent denial allowed him to escape punishment from his fellow Representatives?
My question is this: if Gaetz admits he was banging 18 year old prostitutes, but insists he didn’t know they were prostitutes do you suppose the scandal will die away as quickly and easily as it did for Barney Frank?
The scandal took place in 1989. He announced he would not seek re-election in 2011 or 2012.I thought he resigned?
I thought he resigned?
I laughed out loud.Look at you trying to participate.
