If this has already been talked about please forgive me. I saw the thread about Gundy having balls of steel to go for the TD instead of the FG but first of all I thought that was the percentage call(go for the win on the road) and I also thought he may of been thinking about the 2 low kicks Grogan has had or the muffed snap on the PAT earlier in the game. Either way, a FG was not necessarily a given.

But that is not what I wanted to discuss. I did not realize it when we first scored but as W Va got the ball I realized how it affected Dana's play calling. With a FG, Dana could play safe and pound the ball which they did a good job of all game. But with the TD it forced Dana to go for the end zone twice thus effectively causing him to waste 2 plays because he was unsuccessful each time. We will never know how it would have turned out if we had kicked the FG but we do know how it truned out with the TD.
