And what does "effectiveness" mean in that context? How are they arriving at that value?
I'm just recovered from omicron. Had the exact experience that's been widely reported for the jabbed: sore throat, a little bronchitis, a little fluey for a couple days, nothing real serious. Man the numbers are pretty compelling that the vaccine really does go a long way to keeping people out of hospitals and off ventilators.

That was my experience too for covid before vaccines.
Covid is fascinating and there are clearly people on both sides talking out of their ass.
That said, I'm still battling Covid but finally turning a corner. Horrible cough and weird symptoms. Been in bed since January 2. Oddly enough, no one around me has gotten it. Wife slept next to me every night in December.....nothing. Brother came over end of December.....no positive. Had dinner twice and watched a movie with the folks on NYE...no positive tests.
For a variant that it so easy to catch, it's remarkable they're all Covid free. Thank heavens for the vaccine.

I've heard multiple stories about one spouse getting it, and the other sleep next to them and never have a positive test or symptom. It's weird, the variety of symptoms and various immune responses.
Healthy, not over weight, under 60. Almost zero risk. (Also take ivermectin and NAC just in case.)
Maybe. Just 3 tablets once a month instead of every two weeks as generally recommended around the world.
No jab, had it twice, Omicron lasted longer than the first by about 12 hours. Mabey a day and half, on Omicron. Light symptoms with a mild sore throat, mild cough, some drainage. So...a weak flu. The first I had for about 24 hours same thing. Course according to some of you I should be dead. No ivermectin, nothing but cough drops and gum.
Wife had a bit more issue with it for about a week both times. No jab, no ivermectin nothing but cough meds and Tylenol.
My experience with this bug is that the lethality is completely based on comorbidities. The more you have the more danger you are in, but the same can be said of the flu.
At this point I am completely out on any kind of requirement for the jab. You will never convince me to get it, and if you try to restrict my freedoms and make me pay more, I am going to sue the living shit out you.

This is definitely true except in cases where it isn't. It's bizarre, but some of the worst cases I've seen are 40 and under and healthy.
For some reason, between days 5 to 10 for older and comorbid, and 10 to 12 days for the younger and healthy, covid patients fall off the cliff and there's nothing that will save them.
Yeah it's called going to the hospital and them giving you Remdesivir and putting the patient on a vent....you will "fall off the cliff" for sure 😳

I don't doubt that for some this bug is a death sentence. So is the flu for some. So are a lot things. My problem here is the push to vax and have papers. Its truly astounding to see a group of people so afraid that they demand this. Not only that, of that group, how many are high risk? How many people rushed out and got the jab to protect people that didn't need protecting? I have no doubt you have watched people succumb to this virus, and that is tragic but so was the car wreck that killed four, so was the plane that went down that killed 164, so was the cancer patient that could not beat it. If it where me right? I would say this is what what finally got me. It was a good run.
I refuse to tell people to stop living so they won't die.

I get it. I've never supported any kind of mandate. I took the vaccines to a) keep myself from being a statistic and b) make sure I'm not passing shit to patients. I firmly believe this is an individual choice.
