Nothing to go overboard about either way but this was a solid win against a team despite their injuries can punch back. Need to shore up half court defense obviously.
Evans was a little off (still had 35 and guys couldn't stay in front of him) but was great on defense.
We will struggle all year on the interior but we played with maximum effort and at times our defensive pressure simply overwhelmed a legitimate D1 program. McGriff could be a major key in helping limit a major weakness of ours. That kid busted his ass tonight.
Carroll has to start. He has been flat out phenomenal. May be the biggest jump I have seen at OSU in quite some time. Let Waters be a calming smart influence of the bench. He was a little overwhelmed and over matched tonight.
Forte played well and will continue to benifit from playing next to a player like Evans and from Carrolls emergence. I think you saw that unfortunately in tough games he is likely going to have to spot Evans at the one at times. Don't know if Averrete is ready.
