Hamilton gave as good as he got. It was the politics of the time. I’m not saying that I agree with every position or act committed by either man. They were all a product of their times.

FWIW, I am pursuing a goal of reading a definitive biography on every single US President.
I started this pursuit chronologically, but started jumping around after a while. Right now I am reading Robert Caro’s Four volume LBJ biography.
Doing so has been very enjoyable.
