Or was it George Michael?
Sorry for the thread title, but wanted to get your attention. I just figured it was time to point out (once again) how ridiculous it is that he still hasn't released Winds of Winter, or even announced when we would be able to get our hands on it. Either, he no longer cares about finishing ASOIAF, or he has a serious case of writers block and can't figure out where to take the story. It has now been 5.5 years since the release of his 5th book, which means that it will be at least 6 between the 5th and 6th (likely more).
I was thinking about authors while reading the Rogue One thread and the info about Princess Leia. I was thinking about how Lucas originally intended Leia to be an actual princess, but it didn't work for his later books, so he had to change course and make "Princess" a diplomatic title. Made me appreciate JK Rowling much more because her first Harry Potter book fits seamlessly into the story line and meshes perfectly with all of the later books in the series. At first, I was thinking that Martin could be included with Rowling, when it comes to planning ahead and having all their ducks in a row while writing the first book. Then I remembered that Martin can't even finish the series that made him famous and ridiculously wealthy.
