Generation Z

I'd be curious to know how they gauge this for anyone in that group born after, say 2000???

A year ago, my son thought Bernie could walk on water. Now, after his first real taste of politics, he is loving the fact that Trump beat Hillary.

Nothing like a little experience to bring a person around.

My kids are both super conservative too however not when it comes to social issues like homosexuality. There are lots of gay kids at school and they're friends with them.

My oldest was telling me how she couldn't understand her future step dad because he's not like her mom and I and how accepting we are about that kinda thing and how we don't have any problems with what other people do. She apparently had a little "civil discourse" with him over the topic. Kinda made me proud!

Some of my youngest daughter's friends are pretty liberal, however several of them have attorneys for parents so that doesn't surprise me. :)

Everyone of ours and their spouses are quite conservative. I'd expect that from our biological offsprings but their spouses are as much or more conservative. I have a 9 year old great-nephew who has his life planned out. He wants to be a pro baseball player until age 33 then run for president at 35. He knows exactly how many years he has to wait. He was glued to the TV election night and again on Inauguration Day.

Interesting. Early data shows that they are the most conservative generation since the WWII generation:

I was watching a you tube video a few days ago that mentioned that gen Z was not going to be like gen Y. I'm very happy to see more stories and data to show that it is true.

I have seen it first hand with one of my cousins and his friends comments on facebook that back up all of this data. These people scare the crap out of my dad which makes me laugh because hes pretty much a RINO now.

I'm proud of my son in that he's not ugly to homosexual kids he with whom he goes to school. Like his dad, he believes people should be free to make their own choices. At the same time, like his dad, he agrees with the Bible that homosexuality is a sin.

99.9% of people who do not endorse the gay "lifestyle" feel this way. I could care less what two consenting adults do. None of my business. At the same time, I will not endorse a lifestyle which results in 20% of its demographic contracting HIV.

Well, free will is a staple of Christianity and if one is truly a Christian he will love that individual regardless of sin, knowing he himself is also a sinner, and also at the same time not being afraid to inform them of their sin. Which is where it all goes awry and the confusion between rebuke and judgment becomes obvious and hyperbole over hate speech begins. Many Christians will not call out the sins of fellow Christians out of fear of "judging."

Does that make sense or come off as rambling? I'm no theologian.

Especially if they expect my tax dollars to go toward their treatment thereby increasing my tax burden over time due to lifestyle choices.

First of all, with some exceptions not withstanding, kids don't generally fall too far from the tree. But the key here is that the entire political spectrum has shifted left. What's called conservatism today is very liberal in my grandparent's view. But as the left keeps going further in that direction, kids (and families) who previously would have been considered moderates are now much more closely aligned with today's conservatives.

Yep, I tend toward classical liberalism which is very much conservative today. It's the Overton window in action.

PewDiePie, the most popular YouTube star in the world (50 million followers -- VERY well known in Generation Z), has crossed the establishment.

Ask your kids if they know who PewDiePie is ---- they say he red-pilled an entire generation (Generation Z) into hating the left.

How in the world can you make money on Youtube?

Ad sponsored content. YouTube has a whole program where they pay money for delivering eyes to their site. YouTube is full of minor celebrities now...YouTubers.....that make decent money from their videos and then sell merchandise and even go on tour.

Make-up consultants
Singers
"Comedians"
All kinds of oddities

So far, I have seen live shows of three of my daughters' favorite YouTubers...Troy Sivan (singer), Troy Oakley (I'm not sure what to call him...monologuist?) and Miranda Sings (Pee Wee Herman type character comedian). Even ended up on stage in one of them.

Two of those have gone on to traditional media success. Miranda had a Netflix series. Sivan has sold a lot of records and concert ticket sales.

It's kind of fascinating.

Whats this internet inside my computer box??

This is why idiots try desperately to make a splash with videos. I want to do a stoned cooking show mixing various ingredients with ramen noodles but my wife won't let me. Johnny nix is my hero because he is for sure stoned.

There is already one with a little butch, but very cute lesbian.

And the Doug Benson has "Getting Doug With High" which is literally nothing but him and a celebrity guest smoking it up on stage and giggling.

A ton of people make their living off of YouTube and Twitch, you would probably be surprised. You can make any where from $3-$5 per 1,000 views (not including a sponsor deal you strike on your own to put in your video), so if you see a video with 1 million views they could have made $3,000 to $5,000 from you tube on that video.
On Twitch people live stream playing video games and people donate/"tip" them, on average I'd say any where from $5-$20 , and there are crazy people that will give 100's and even some people who have gotten $10,000 donations from rich people.

But as for pewdiepie, he has 57 million subscribers (most of which are probably dead accounts by now but still a crazy number), on top of that he has a lot of sponsors that he'll work into his videos.
