Gannett loses for the quarter

were $22 million....compared to $122 million same quarter last year. Wonder how long they can keep this up...they own the DOK and USA today. This was 4th quarter numbers.
I didn't know Gannet owned the Oklahoman (former Daily Oklahoman). As a "professional tourist", I bought USA Today almost every week day. In the Nations, I often bought the Daily Oklahoman. The papers were vastly different.

It was fun to watch US stocks change to metric in USA Today. SBC would trade at $25 5/8. XM Radio would trade at $6.644. US stocks were based on the Spanish dollar for 230 years. I think it was circa 2000 when stocks began trading using the metric US dollar. I really liked the USA Today Financial section.

They own KTHV channel 11 in Little Rock, they cut the fat the past yr or so and all the high paid anchors either retired or changed careers.
I once listened to OU women play K-State on KOMA 1520 in OKC in Sacramento. The 2015 Moore tornado knocked down the three KOMA 50,000 watt Western Electric antennas in Moore. KOKC (former KOMA) hasn't replaced the antenna array and probably won't. KOKC is now broadcasting omni-directional day and night with 10,000 watts to protect the big Buffalo 1520 station night time.

As a constant traveler for 12 years, I often listened to KOMA night time in western America. I always hoped OU would be playing a night game and I'd be in the west half of the US. If I were traveling today, XM Radio would be a must have.

KARK-AM in Little Rock big antenna array blew down. No more listening to KARK in Key West.

Of course, both stations can be heard round the world on the internet. I listen to OU women on KOKC on line. I'll admit. It was a white woman who taught me how to get on the internet. But I obtained a photo to vote all by myself.

You can't get a subscription without giving them your phone number, and there's no way around it. Its insane, I've tried to subscribe and you HAVE to opt in to marketing texts. Their efficiencies are killing them, subscribers are like oxygen to a newspaper.

I'm a Sooner fan.

My ancestors were forced from Morgan County, Alabama to Haskell County, Oklahoma on the "Trail Where They Cried", better known as the Trail Of Tears. I sometimes wonder if I'd be a Tide fan without President Jackson's signature on the "Indian Removal Act" of 1830. But my father wouldn't have been in Haskell County for my migrant Arkansas white mother to find.
