Special Teams - they were atrocious. In the game, we had two running into the kicker penalties and during one of those we did not line up any defenders over the outside gunners and they could have easily thrown a pass over our defense and into their hands for a touchdown. We also had two blocked field goals and two muffed punts. I blame the coaches for the two muffed punts because we never blocked anybody and too often tried to block the punt. At one point we were up 26 to nothing and we had momentum. Instead we called for the punt block and ran into the kicker which sustained their drive, which resulted in a touchdown. Also somebody please tell me why we don't keep one extra guy back to pick up the first guy coming down so that our punt returner can cleanly catch the ball and have the ability to get loose?
Defense - Somebody needs to show the defensive coaching staff the metrics data for 3rd and long when we go to 3 lineman (conversion rate and yards per play) versus having 4 lineman in the game. Also, anytime the other team lines up with three or more receivers please replace Flowers (#31) with one of our really talented CB's. Flowers is getting picked on every game when he matches up one-on-one with a receiver.
Offense - Yurcich must be fired or at the very least needs to have his play calling duties removed.
