Good crowd. We had 56,000+ which I thought was pretty good considering the less than appealing opponent for a home opener. If weather holds up, I expect a great crowd next weekend for UTSA.
Whitener. I was really wow-ed but his closing speed on the ball carrier a couple of times. He and Averette give us good depth at LB.
Jeff Carr. Really nice runner for a true freshman. I see why Gundy was raving about him in fall camp. Excited to see him the next few years.
Ateman. Although offense continues to sputter, he had another solid game. He and Rudolph seem to be developing good chemistry, which will be important as we play better teams.
JW Walsh. After the tremendous humility he has shown, it was great to see him score at home. Finally, they decide to switch it up and pass.
Vincent Taylor. I've been really surprised by his play 2 weeks into the season. He is massive and he has been very good. He not only fills a gap, but he makes plays. He is only a redshirt sophomore so it'll be exciting to see how he and our other young DTs grow. Joe Bob is the real MVP, obviously.
Seales. It was nice to see him get involved on back-to-back plays. He has a lot of talent; consistency has seemed to be his biggest problem.
How about Sinor? This guy can play! He flipped the field several times when our offense couldn't move the ball. It is great to know that this position will be in good hands for the next several years.
