I am rarely surprised, but that one gets me. There's more to this story -- Donna didn't do that out of pure principle. Donna's x3 smarter than Hillary, I wonder if this is a canary in the coal mine of grass roots dem discontent with the DNC.

See any criminal potential here? I realize Donna emphasized “unethical” as opposed to “criminal”, but are you hearing rumors of a criminal investigation? If so, it would be a good idea to get out in front of it with a “Don’t look at me” theme.
I think it's potentially as simple as Hillary just won't go away and they need her to.
I know next to nothing about federal campaign finance laws. I kind of have it in the back of my head that it's illegal for candidates to coordinate with third party independent expenditure groups so the candidates always send a trusted staffer to set up and run an independent expenditure group to establish a veneer of independence. I haven't looked at this in a long while, but I remember being struck at how brazen both sides were at creating a supposedly arms-length independent PAC (old term) and then obviously coordinating with it. I'm kind of curious whether those pacs were "independent" and how Bernie gets a fair shake when the DNC is contractually tied to Hillary's campaign.
There's a lot of discontent with dems right now at the DNC and no POTUS to keep everyone united. Biff kind of kept everyone somewhat united but there's gonna be some discord over Hillary's stuff and super delegates. Donna's book is really surprising to me, I thought she was tied at the hip to Hillary. Donna's smart and carries a big stick in dem circles.
