I've bought things on amazon and there was no tax....and this article is very vague in postal funds....what are the postal service costs when you're losing billions every year? Do they even have to factor that part in? No, they don't. walmart has put thousands out of business....sorry, no evidence of anything but trump not liking amazon and making bozo have some pain.

He's against free enterprise. Liberals have proven to be better capitalists over the last generation and the destroyed narrative has him dealing with a lot of congnitive dissonance. He hates the guys like Bezos that are the engines of the economy.

I HATE it when someone on this forum makes me laugh out loud but this got me.
According to the article Amazon collects and pays sales tax in the 45 states that have sales tax, but requires third party vendors to collect and pay the tax when it is routed through them. A standard practice by most online services. Also according to the article the law requires any shipper to pay the postal service's costs at a minimum. The postal service does not lose money by delivering Amazon's packages, as required by law.

If you've purchased from them since they started doing this (and I do pretty much weekly or more) you'll know that they do not collect it uniformly and it seems like they only collect the state level sales tax in OK.
I agree in general principal that Trump's overall argument is poor. But I do not think it is quite as simple as Rich Lowry makes it out to be.

This guy doesn’t once mention bulk rate discounts, which apply to every online retailer, it’s not some special exclusive rate. I mean, if you want Amazon charged 1.46 for every package they ship, they’ll just up their prices.
