Funny that they're going after these drug companies

that manufacture opioids....they should be going after the docs who prescribed them as well. they were giving them away like candy.

It's a money grab. Everyone wants a sequel to the tabbaco settlement. Everything you think you know about the opioid crisis is a half-truth.

So the government demands that drug wholesalers and distributors have a process to “know the customer”. Are the orders received justifiable? It’s not surprising they are focused on one of the smaller fish, because the bigger houses, like Mckesson, have proven they have the money to fight these things beyond where the government really wants to go. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds.

Us pharma companies are the damn devil. Just go read about valeant and you see why the drugs are so much.

And, this is pretty darn cheap “insurance”. The public response costs the shareholders more than the actual monetary fine.

Rochester Drug Co, had a $20 million dollar fine, that will be paid out of 5 years. From 2012-2016, they had over $1Billion in sales. 2% of sales is significant, but not a bad deal for insurance.
