I would predict us to finish in 8-10th place in league play. I would really be pleasantly surprised to see us do better than 8.
Regarding shooting - at this point in a player’s career, they are either a shooter, or they are not. Frankly, I don’t know that we have anyone that I would classify as a “pure shooter” - no one like Rutherford, Forte, or Page. ( I’ll believe it when I see it with Dziagwa.) So, I think we are going to be very limited offensively.
Very disappointed with the defense. I thought we had corrected all the back door breakdown towards the end of last season. Obviously not.
While Carroll is obvious, I think the keys will be Sima, Smith, and better defense.
But so far, I am disappointed with Smith. I am expecting much more from him.
I think we miss Evans more than we realize. We have no serious NBA talent on the team, so we should only expect so much.
So with 6 pretty serious Big 12 teams, I think it will be a tough year.
If Boynton doesn’t find at least one stud recruit, we will be in big trouble.
