Ford F-150 vs GMC Sierra

I haven't been in the new body styles but I bought at 2014 F-150 and looked hard at the GMCs. I didn't like the way I sat in it and the "field of vision" that I got from the GMC vs. the Ford. The window size and ability to see all around me in the Ford was much better plus the Super Crew in the Ford dwarfed the 2014 GMC I looked at. The leg room in the back of the Ford is so much bigger than the GMC.

The room in the super crew seems to be what I hear the most from people who chose the F 150 over any other comparable truck.

I bought a 2014 GMC z71 super crew Feb of last year and traded in my 2004 f150 supercrew. I really like my GMC, but if I could have held out I probably would have went with the new Ford. I've always been a Ford guy, but you can't really go wrong with any trucks nowadays.

Some Pros - cab noise is non existent. My truck is super quiet inside. The ride is also fantastic, even after putting on a leveling kit and bigger, more aggressive tires. Really like the infotainment system as well. The exterior - I really like the look of the new GMC's.

Cons - The back seat does feel a little smaller, but it's plenty big enough to fit three car seats across, so it works for me.

Call Jim Allen at Charles Allen Ford 405-224+2000. He will take care of you.

I haven't driven the 2015-2016 models for both. But over the past years, the one knock I've had with GM trucks is that it takes a football field to turn them...which is a pain in a parking lot. The Ford's turning radius is much better.

I've driven the 2015 F-150, and this is exactly what I thought. I was deciding between these two trucks and am going to buy a Ford in about a month. I like the look of the 2015 Sierra, but I'm not too crazy about how the 2016 looks.

Now if we are talking about unlimited lettuce...Lets just get the Raptor and call it a day, the best riding truck I have ever been in. Incredible.

If you're looking to buy a Ford call me, Zack 405 850 4340 @ England Ford. We have a ton of F150s on hand and can get whatever you'd like. Even if you don't have x-plan (set price) I will make buying process real easy for you. We are a small town dealership and part of the Wagon Wheel program with OSU. The cab room in an F150 Crew is unbeatable!

I don't have a Raptor but I've got a Platinum with the same engine as the Raptor (6.2 liter). I love it and will probably drive this truck into the ground.

I didn't realize they had the same engine. I second that though. My Platinum has been amazing.

The 6.2 isn't standard in the 2014 Platinum like it is in the Raptor but it is an option. I'm just glad I don't drive it too much and we take the wife's car on road trips. I'm tickled pink if I can average over 14 mpg a tank.

What year is yours? Do you have the ecoboost? I believe the Ford 6.2 liter is no more for 2015 and going forward.

Okay, well mine doesn't have it then. I'm not much of an engine guy. I fit the old saying if you see me under the hood call and ambulance.

Mine is 2010 so I don't even have ecoboost.

Cool, well I'm glad to hear yours is still going strong. Hope mine does the same.

I have a 2002 F-150 and other then a few mechanic bills every other year that thing is still kicking. Now I only drive it a couple miles each day and us it to haul stuff to the dump but I swear it will have to blow up before I part with it. My pops just got a new F-150 2015 and it is the platinum and the back seats are wonderful with so much space. I would take the F-150 or F series over GM any day.

need a new truck in the next 6 months. Toyota not on the X plan so between the 2 which one?

0% interest for 72 months!!!!!!
They make 4 engines for the new 2015 F150: 2.7L Ecoboost, 3.5 V6, 3.5L Ecoboost, and the 5.0L V8
I hear good things about the 2.7L Ecoboost and would like to trade my wife out of her Explorer for a new F150 XLT Sport in Blue Flame

Hey Z! My brother is the dealer in Chickasha. We are Charles Allen Ford. Good to see you are so close. I am the banker in Verden and Chickasha.

I have an 03 Dodge Ram 1500. No love?

I can't kill it. It went from my main vehicle to work truck over that time...I wash it once a year whether it needs it or not and keep it maintained. Yeah, the dash is cracked, the flood lights haven't been used in years since I broke the switch, the left window switch is broken and you have to mash it hard to work the windows, the passenger side window won't work with the passenger side switch, the side steps rusted off, the gas gauge sometimes quits working....but I'll be damned if I'm ever stranded lol.

The 3.5 liter ecoboosts have 420 lb of torque, more than the new gas F-250s with a V8. They're even on par with the old Raptor Engine (2014) which I have.

Let's talk output: The 6.2 V8 in the current Ford Raptor makes 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque. Yeah, the 3.5 makes less (365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque) but it's on tap sooner. The EcoBoost makes peak horsepower at 5,000 RPM as opposed to the 6.2's 5,500... and the torque curve on the turbo blows the V8 out of the water: full power at just 2,500 RPM as opposed to the V8's relatively lazy 4,500 RPM.

14 lb-ft of torque is an easy sacrifice to make for all the juice 2,000 RPMs sooner... and we've all seen how wicked the EcoBoost can be when it's tuned.

Neighbor is looking at the new Dodge 3500s, I've never liked the way they look but I think Dodge is pretty much setting the standard in diesels right now. These new ones are supposed to have a towing capacity of 31,210, 10 lbs more than the F-450!

Drive 1 before you pass. Most people come in looking to drive an F150 have no clue about the motors. I put them in the ecoboost and watch there eyes get big when they accelerate. A friend of mine is averaging 23 in his 4x4 2.7L Ecoboost. I haven't driven one enough to swear by that number but that's why I'm trying to get my wife in one. I do know that the 3.5L Ecoboost will out pull any half ton out there.

I'm not buying another truck until Chevy starts making the Avalanche again. There is not a better vehicle for tailgating.

I have the 6.2L in my 2011 F150 Lariat. It is a beast stock, and even more so with a little work. I like the interior room of the Fords. By far the most comfortable and roomy back seat.

Livernois Motorsports are the only people to talk to if you are going to tune your Ecoboost. My SHO was an absolute animal when we got done with it. Only thing I didn't like about it was the sound. I missed the V8 sound, but that car was a monster, and it ate BMW M series for breakfast.

I've got a Sierra Denali with all wheel drive and a 6.2L that I've had tuned and I got my wife a Flex with the 3.5L ecoboost. I try to steal her car all the time. Last year I thought about getting a new truck and was going to get an F150 ecoboost. Decided that I liked not having a truck payment and my 2008 Denali only had like 40K miles on it. It would be a tough decision to me now with the new GMCs vs the Ford. I like the ecoboost better than the LS3 but the Ford's interior is not as comfortable to me.

I really like the looks of the GMC's. But we couldn't justify buying a new truck with other budgetary commitments, so I picked up a used 2010 F150 Platinum back in December that had the 5.4l 3 valve engine and it was the first Ford I have ever owned.

Word of advice, don't ever get a used F150 with the 5.4 V8. The timing system has 'issues' and can potentially bore a hole in your wallet.

A month ago I traded it for a 2011 F150 Lariat with the 5.0 V8. I am much happier with the vehicle, but the true test for me will be good it performs as I go past 100k miles (at 53k right now).

I also have a 2011 F150. The rear room is a big deal. My wife prefers taking it over her mom wagon because she can climb into the back from the front and sit comfortably between the babies very easily. I really like my truck and plan to keep it for as long as I can. Since I'm not driving but a mile to work now it is going to be around forever.

I moved to Chickasha in July. From Anadarko originally. My dad and uncle have bought two trucks from England Ford. A 2011 lariat and a 2012 F350 king ranch. Small world.
