From the Tulsa World:

Ford losing hope Forte will return:
There was plenty to be happy about regarding Oklahoma State’s victory Saturday against TCU.

Mitchell Solomon returned after rolling his ankle and not practicing since Sunday, logging 18 minutes. OSU forced 15 turnovers, 10 of those steals. The Cowboys looked energetic and alert, for the most part, hustling from one end to the other and scoring in transition. And, most importantly, OSU picked up what coach Travis Ford believes might be its best win of the young season.

However, that all paled in comparison to the need for Phil Forte’s return. The senior guard tore a ligament in his elbow against Towson on Nov. 19, and Ford doesn’t seem optimistic about his return.

“Phil Forte’s not gonna come back, I’m sure,” Ford said. “That’d be my bet. He’s over six weeks since it happened. And he hasn’t been on the court yet. So I’m just trying to put two plus two together.”

Ford said he has delayed applying for Forte’s medical hardship waiver, which would give him an extra year of eligibility, because he would rather players try their hardest in rehab in hopes of returning when the severity of the injury is in doubt.
