For The Texans On This Board

That's what they say but they said the same thing about Beto. Cruz is a terrible campaigner, add that with McConnell hating Cruz and denying him Republican campaign dollars, along with millions of dollars in out of state campaign donation to Allred and it could be the perfect storm. McConnell is more interested in his hold on power over Republicans in the Senate than Republican control of the Senate.

tome = long. If you don't do tome or long, don't read. I'd like to hear other experiences as a dual citizen if you have any as well.

So, I spent my first 33-years in OK and my last 35-years just west of Houston. I consider myself to have dual citizenship. Texas & Oklahoma have a great deal in common especially the first few years when one first relocates to the other state. We moved back to OK last year so this tome is focused on the differences of living in Texas.

Like OK, Texas have a highly developed sense of wrong & right that is not malleable. The people, particularly men, of both states will have a tendency to afford the offender to remediate and/or atone for transgressions, but only once. Absent this a Texan will take the shortest path to rectification typically regardless if that path falls within the bounds of the law or societal norms. Offend one, offend all.

I'll focus on the Houston area for this. If you have not been to Houston it is difficult to understand just how large the metroplex is. For example, if you're coming in from the west on I-10 and you hit one of the seven Katy exits you are now ~35 miles from downtown. After you pass downtown it is essentially city-after-city all the way to Louisiana. From the north on I-45, you hit the Woodlands about 45-miles north of town and it runs all the way to the ferry crossing in Galveston. The area now has 3-highway loops around it & from the air it very much resembles Moscow & it's ring roads.

The Hispanic population has increased steadily all the time we were there. During Obama & this last disaster the numbers of Mexican, central America & south American immigrants has exploded beyond belief. She of the notorious triple crown weave, Sheila Jackson Lee led the charge to see that these illegals were paid and signed up to vote for the Dems every waking hour of her life. She gone now.

Before any of the bleeding hearts tee off here, I acknowledge that the Hispanics I encountered for 30+ years as a whole are the hardest working, friendliest and honest group of people that you will ever live with. I cannot remember one incident that would have caused me or my wife to worry in a situation like a dark parking lot, etc. where I felt even slightly threatened by these people. The best thing about the legal ones and the ones that are going through the legal process to become legal are for the most part as intolerant of the illegals as I am. They are taking their jobs and relief monies and contributing nothing in return.

The central and south Americans are not to be trifled with in any respect, either in public or private. This is not the sole reason but one for which you will find at least 60% of professional and working men carrying concealed and another 80% carrying in their vehicles. I personally carried 2-concealed every day.

The governor, despite what you hear is doing a great job with the hand he has been dealt by the libs and their illegal constituency. The AG, Ken Paxton is an iron clad stud in the mode of the classic Texas ranger. The dems tried to buy him to the point of his bankruptcy and he fought back and kicked their a$$es. I don't believe Cruz is compromised (I hope not) but he is the real deal when it comes to the constitution & he hates pedophiles.

The world of Beto, his gang, and all their combined followers can be imagined if you have ever been down on 6th street in Austin. It is a modern day Sodom & Gomorrah. Everything goes with gusto. The old bumper sticker "Keep Austin Weird" actually is more desirable that what Austin has become.

If the law stands as of now for the election and no voter ID is required and mail in ballots are allowed it will be a bad time for Texas. I predict that regardless of the national results, if Trump or some other conservative is not elected that Texas will exercise their option to secede & there will be a "night of the long knives" type scenario as they "fix" their problems.

The further you get from Texas & Oklahoma, the less differences. For instance when I am in Australia, as a Texan, you cannot buy a beer, your money is no good. Aussies love Texans. On another trip we were tipping some Victoria Bitters (best beer in the world) and my mates asked where in Texas I grew up. I told them it was Oklahoma and they asked where that was. I told them that it was only separated from Texas by a river and they proceeded to come up with an OK license plate displayed behind the bar next to the Texas plate by the end of the week. Next trip over I took some OU hats (I know which board I'm on) and gave them to my mates.

Best way I can put it is that Texans are very proud of all that I Texas. OK is their neighbor, sometimes drinking buddy, business partner. Oklahomans are respected but not exactly as other Texans are in all but a few specific cases particularly if an outsider (not from OK or TX) starts bad-mouthing or belittling OK outside of a sports connotation the Texan(s) will, without hesitation step up and kick the living $hit out of the offender. It's the damndest thing ever. Not exactly the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but not bad.
