I've got a lot of good natural sources of food on my lease, but this year thinking of putting in a couple of food plots for this fall. I've not messed much with them. Anyone use them regularly? What do you plant? My lease is in the mtns near McAlester, and it's very rocky. Anyone use no-till drills for this?

We planted turnips, wheat and rye two seasons ago and it turned out fantastic. Maybe an acre and half. Last year the army worms got it and it didn’t turn out near as well. We disc, broadcast then drag it.

Thanks P15!! I still might have to do that. I was hoping to find a way to plant soybeans, turnips if possible, etc. but try not to make it look like a cultivated field. I'd rather till right into the current native grasses/forbes if they are not too thick to keep things from growing. That just may not be practical though. Thoughts?
